Gynzy is an amazing website that allows teachers to create lessons on an interactive whiteboard. Many classrooms have Smart Boards which are an incredible tool that helps students interact with the material. Gynzy is similar to Smart Boards in that teachers and students can write over top of the lesson slides. There are fun tools, games, and simulations that are offered on the website that helps teachers engage with their students throughout the lesson. In order to create a Gynzy presentation, I created an account and went to the board tab. From there, I created my lesson using the different tools and content options the website offered. The process was simple.
Gynzy helps teachers to engage their students in learning through fun, interactive tools. This is how Gynzy fits under the Danielson Framework, specifically Component 3c: Engaging Students in Learning. As teachers, it is important to make sure that our students are enjoying and interested in what we are teaching. Gynzy help students interact with activities and assignments using technology. If students are fully engaged in the assignment and learning, then the students will glean much more information.
What I enjoyed most about Gynzy were the amazing tools that the website offers. There are birthday cake activities for birthdays, science simulations about the water cycle, and activities using blocks for math. The tools are exciting and unique. There are a variety of them that can be used for students of all ages.
There is not much that I would change about the website, other than a couple things. There was also a limited amount of photos that can be used through the website. This can make it difficult to bring your lesson to life. Creating an entire lesson on Gynzy was difficult because it takes a long time to create the slides. I think that the tool could best be used for activities for the students, but using it for content was not always easy. It would be much simpler to use a Power Point for the content, and then use Gynzy as a "throw-in" tool.
I would use this tool in my future classroom for fun activities. The activities that are on Gynzy are unique and exciting for students to use. I, personally, love the birthday activities. There is one that allows students to pick and create a birthday cake, and then it sings to the student. I think that this would be a fun way to celebrate students' birthdays.
