Instructing our students is what makes us teachers, which is why instruction is Domain 3 of the Danielson Framework. Domain 3 is important because it gives teachers ideas on how they can effectively reach their students through instruction. The components that make up Domain 3 are communicating with students, questioning and discussion techniques, engaging students in learning, using assessment in instruction, and demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness. These components help teachers to know what they need to connect with their students in order to convey the information and make the lesson engaging for them.
One way that teachers can branch off from Domain 3 is through communicating with the parents of their students. My virtual co-op gives the parents activities that can strengthen the skills that are being learned in the classroom. For example, I created a QR code worksheet for the parents where they can scan the code and get access to the activities. This will help the students to practice and grow in the skills that they are learning.
