As a teacher, it is your responsibility to give parents opportunities for parents to learn how their children are doing in class and what is happening during class time. Not all parents are able to help in the classroom due to work commitments, so teachers must provide other times when parents can meet with them to discuss their students. It is important to form relationships with your students' parents. By having parental support, teachers are able to accomplish much more during class time. Parents tend to be more involved when their children are in elementary school, but it is also key for them to be involved in middle and high school. Teachers need to allow opportunities for parents to be involved in the classroom for students of all ages.
