As a teacher, it is important that you set clear expectations for your students. They must understand that they are in the classroom in order to learn something. Yes, the activities may be fun, but there is a purpose to these activities. Most activities that are done in the classroom are meant to give students knowledge that they will need for a future exam. It takes an expert teacher to make these lessons enjoyable for their students while they are also learning something useful. Activities that are done in class should be of a wide variety. Provide lots of different types of opportunities where students can succeed based on their learning type. These activities should highlight their factual, reasoning, conceptual, and communicative knowledge and capabilities.
