Google forms is an exciting tool that teachers can use to create personalized surveys and quizzes. Creating a google form is easy. All that you need to have is a google account in order to create it. With your google account, you go into google drive where you select the google form option. This will then transfer you to a document where you can begin to customize it. You are able to select different themes, types of questions, and images based on what you want to use the form for. Everything can be changed and personalized to your liking. Google forms can be used for parent surveys, different subject quizzes for students, and student surveys, as well. It truly is an amazing tool that teachers should use in their classroom.
I think that this website fits under the Danielson Framework of Domain 1b: Demonstrating Knowledge of Students. My virtual co-op had me create a student survey about what type of environment each student learns best in and what topics they are interested in learning about in class. She will then take the information that she gleaned from the survey to alter her learning style and lessons to the students' needs. By doing this, she is demonstrating that she understands her students and what they need in order to succeed. Google forms is allowing her to get to know her students better and improving her pedagogy.
I enjoy google forms because it is so simple to use. Typing in the questions and answers is easy and effortless. Everything you need to make a survey or quiz is at your fingertips. Images are easy to put into the document thanks to a google search that is built into the website. All around, it is a simple tool that can be very useful when used in the classroom.
I plan to use google forms in my classroom to create surveys. I can use it to create parent surveys to ask questions about what they do or do not like about what is being done in the classroom. I can also get opinions from students by creating surveys for them to fill out. It is an awesome way to get an overall view of your students in a short amount of time. I will definitely be using this in my future classroom.
Google forms implements the augmentation portion of the SAMR model into the classroom. The website allows for simple tasks, such as surveys and quizzes, to be be created and used in the classroom to benefit both the teacher and students. Before technology, this type of simple documentation would not have been possible, but with technology, it can now be done.
